Artist residency spaces
The Polo Cultural Gaivotas | Boavista (Cultural Centre) offers accommodation and work spaces that can be used by professionals temporarily in the process of artistic creation in the City.
There are two spaces: the Boavista Residences and the Monsanto Residences.
These spaces can be used for 24 hours a day, for a maximum period of 3 months.

BOAVISTA RESIDENCIES
The Boavista Residencies are apartments located on Rua da Boavista, in a renovated, adapted Pombaline building. They consist of four apartments: two T1 apartments (one bedroom and a living room) and two T2 apartments (two bedrooms and a living room).
In addition to the renovation of comfort conditions and furniture, since January 2021 these apartments also counted on artistic interventions by Vanessa Teodoro, Mariana a Miserável, Catarina Glam and Leonor Brilha.
Check-in and check-out hours
- Check-in between 4 pm and 7 pm, at the headquarters building of the Polo Cultural Gaivotas | Boavista
- Check-out between 8am and 12pm
MONSANTO RESIDENCIES
The Monsanto Residencies are two houses, with an integrated workspace and an outdoor space. They correspond to the old Function Houses of the Monsanto Forest Park, which were renovated and reconverted.
Check-in and check-out hours
- Check-in between 4 pm and 7 pm, at the Lisbon Municipal Archive building
- Check-out between 8am and 12pm
Who can use them?
Artists especially involved in contemporary creation, temporarily working in Lisbon.
